In HD in early 1980s I was taught by a senior Gymnasialprofessor At one point he said, Tooze you should read LTI by Klemperer. I go to Ziehank & ask to order it. Caused a big to do. Has to come from GDR "special order". I was one proud 14-year old. Changed my view of words 4ever https://t.co/3RgTwQu9wg

Italy is generally thought of as being in cockpit of capitalist crisis in the 1970s. Strikingly, in this great paper by Storm, profit share data hardly suggest a crisis. @tedfertik @policytensor @SecYellen Spot on, often stuff that looks structural is actually “just” GOP/class-politics + liberal self-paralysis. In 2013 Krugman is invoking Kalecki. Come 2017 it turns out running Econ hot is no problem. There is no balance of class forces in modern US. As Buffet says, his side won.

One of huge problems in communicating about economic policy in Germany is the dramatic incomprehension of economic history. @policytensor @tedfertik @SecYellen Agreed, of course. If I understand correctly where DSGE as such tended to create blindspots was to do with financial stability i.e. 2008. Otherwise, as you say, it is a question of the spec of the Phillips curve.
@davies_will Thank you Will. Its a really interesting question actually about the longevity of elites. A-push-me-pull-you made up of Mervyn King and Mark Carney?
